Live @ The Relic House was recorded using a Crown Cassette Boom Box. The recording tape used was TDK - SA-90 cassette tape without dolby noise reduction. The cassette was then transferred to reel to reel tape. The Original analog master tape transfers were then captured with a Toshiba US-800 interface to the computer by Shayne Barker at Neuromobility Sound Studios.
Randy Knapp used a Rickenbacker Bass played threw a 50 watt Marshall head, into a two 15" Fender Bassman cabinet. Elliot Thorne exclusively used Tama Drums. Jim Curnutte used a Gibson Les Paul Standard and a 1961 Gibson Les Paul SG, threw two Marshall 50 watt amps and for the effects amplification he used an Ampeg VT-22 amp with a Sound City four 12 external cabinet.
The original recordings on the TDK cassette tape are raw and the tape had a lot of tape noise. Every attempt to remove the noise just took away so much of the sound, that we abandon any hope of removing it. Keeping it honest, we mastered these 24bit 96k digital files with no compression and very little if any equalizing.
